The Last Few Days

We were out by the lake a few days ago and it was so pretty with the yellow flowers I made
asked the kids to sit and take a quick picture...

See the little footprint in the sand - belongs to Thomas :)

Remind me again why we get toys....

Sabbath Meal

One of our typical Sabbath meals. We decided a couple of months ago that we would knock off work and be sitting down to eat at 6pm on Saturdays - without plans to go back outside and finish anything! So we get to start our "Sabbath" rest on Saturday evening. This has been really nice for us. We girls endeavor to have everything finished in the kitchen, including clean up, so we can rest after the meal and enjoy each others company. Will also wanted to start practicing hospitality so once or twice a month we try and invite a family over - the other two Saturdays we practice table manners! No elbows, talking with food in the mouth, talking over folks, passing food correctly, keeping glasses up right (mommy included...), etc.. It really has been nice - we are still working the kinks out but are settling into a routine :)

so what you see here is (from far left) mashed potatoes, grilled veggies, cheese, grapes and sausage stuffed dates (don't knock em until you try em!) - on the good china by the way!

sweet sisters :)

Our Large Black Piglets are ready to go to new homes!

Our little piglets are ready to find new homes! If you know anyone that would like a heritage breed hog please pass this post along to them! Here is the info:

We have 1 male and 2 females left from this liter ($350 each) . They are from the Longfellow / Prudence bloodlines and are pasture raised with soy free supplemental feed. Piglets are 15 weeks old (Born June 24th, 2012) and registered with the Large Black Association. These are rare heritage breed hogs known for their easy going temperament and moist tender meat.

Chicken Pox

The Pox have run their course finally! Yea - we can go to church again :)

First Katie - she had the worst case!

Then Jay-Bird's first case

Two weeks later!
Can't tell here but but Bella has it in this picture

and here is Thomas's case - you could not see most of his as they were in his diaper!

Two weeks later!
Jack has them here.

and Card

So our pox were not all out of the way at one time like mommy hoped - they took 6 weeks to run their course through the kids! But we are done now - yea!!
We were so blessed to have really mild cases - mommy had been afraid (after looking at way too many pictures online) that it was going to be a real ordeal. Only Card and Jay even ran a fever. Nobody stopped playing long enough to scratch really - only night times were hard on them. Thank you Lord that we are done and everyone got through it with ease (even mommy!).

Rocket Lauching

A few evenings ago we launched some rockets - LOVE living in the country :)

Notice the kiddo hiding behind the tree to the left :)

this time Bella launced it!
