Parking

The kids actually caught this picture. When we pulled into Kroger a couple days ago we were pretty amazed to see this guy parked this way. He was in a handicapped spot, with a trailer, and people were literally having to pull around the 6 ft (or less) area he left behind him. Forget two cars trying to get by. And oh , BTW, he walked out of the store just fine to jump into his very nice truck with the very nice trailer hooked up to it - not even a limp.......

The Mirror

Jacks dimples are so cute...

This hurts me just looking at it.......

????

"You talking ta me!!!!!!"
Sorry Camille - I could not resist.......

The Flowers

My hubby brought me home the most beautiful flowers a week or so ago. The best part though, was that he had Card with him and a couple of nights later Card and I were in Kroger getting a few things when he says "Mommy, we have to get Katie and Bella some flowers"! I love that my wonderful, thoughtful hubby is rubbing of onto my already thoughtful little man!

More Harris Visit

Look - one of Andrew AND Noah.....

Card joins the ladies for tea time.....

Even caught Glen on film

Katie and Eva making beautiful music - speaking of that, I also was blessedwith hearing Camille play - she plays wonderfully. I loved just listening while I was baking and cleaning.

Harris Boys & Girls come to help....

The Harris boys and girls came to visit us last Sunday and work on the roof. Here are some of them - Zach, Card (not a Harris boy), Nathan, and Joel are pictured here. I am not sure if we have pictures of all of them... Will have to see if I have one with Noah or Andrew in it....

Katie and Eva sweeping up....

YES , This makes mommy very nervous....

What it looked like when they left......

Our boy

Will would say "he is just like his daddy"

What to do when a hurrican hits and you are bored

play in the mud of course!

Couple of things we learned during Ike

6o MPH sustained winds do not deter hummingbirds or lovebugs!

Chickens can weather 60+ MPH winds the one night they decide to roost in a tree instead of their hen house.....

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it, it really does fall.... sadly, this was the biggest tree (we have yet discovered!) on our property. Now that it has fallen, I can see that the trunk is bigger than I am tall!

God's handiwork

Katie picked this for me - the petals were so beautifully made - to think of all the time God spends on His creation continues to amaze me.

Future Fireman

Our little man has decided he wants to be a fireman when he grows up - we shall see what the Lord has in store for this hero.....meanwhile - we visited the library for story time and visited with the fireman last week.

Well, there really is a fireman in the suit...

Card and his friend Josh Kuritza

The hat weighs almost as much as him!

We are hoping sometime soon we can talk our friend Bill into letting us come to his fire station and take a grand tour

What the kids do while we work

Back to work - no benefits!

Play with the chickens - they are, after all, making her $15 a week now!

Walls up

Outer walls are up.....

and the roofing begins..........

Everyone works around here

and this is the first outer wall being put in place.

Coming along.....

Have to start out by saying THANK YOU to our good friends the Atkins! Al is coming down almost every week and sometimes twice a week! Without him we could not possibly be this far along. And thank you to his lovely wife and children for letting him drive all this way every week to help us out! Thank You Atkins!!!!!

Working on sub floor

What do you do when the nail gun breaks????
Everyone grabs a hammer!
There were only 4 hammers, so mommy had to stand by and take pictures......

In case you are wondering - Card is standing on the plywood so it will stay still while daddy cuts.

Will and Al did most of the sub floor - however, Will and I worked our behinds off the day of the hurricane so our plywood would not be blowing around our backyard! This was a few hours before the storm hit - we got every piece nailed down!
