What's the end product going to look like? It's kind of hard to visualize based on the last picture. Also, kudos to Merritt for being seen in such a classic, old-school WebbStock tee. That shirt was even before my time. Word.
What are you planning on putting on those posts?

Two more bedrooms (one for the boys and one for the girls), another potty, a great room, a room for mommy's stuff and an office for me.
Are you building all that yourself, hiring someone, or getting something pre-fab? Will it be elevated to the height of those posts, or will they be trimmed down closer to the level of the rest of the house?
The posts will be trimmed so the finished floor matches the floor in the house. Card is having a hard time right now with the multi-level posts. He just can't figure out how the floor is going to be flat. We will be acting as GC for a host of friends and neighbors - but it will be a 'do it yourself' project.
